Intrinsic Motivation, Passion

"Providing high-quality care to groups of children requires teamwork among teaching staff." - Marcy Whitebook
"Child-care workers make about $12,000 a year, without benefits, so there is a lot of turnover in the field. That's less than we pay our dogcatchers and parking lot attendants. It says a lot about what we value." - Marian Wright Edelman

Brief Introduction (week 1)
Hi! My name is Tameca Ward and this is my first time blogging. As a student at Walden University, I am excited to finally enter into the field of Early Childhood Education. Teaching at the high school level for the last eleven, going on twelve years has only heightened my anticipation to begin a life in the field that I have desired to be a part of for so long. Although I've already attained a M.Ed. from the University of North Texas, this journey seems a bit different...more rewarding, highly-anticipated, and yes...more intriguing. Periodically I will be sharing information pertaining to Early Childhood Education and its implications for professionals in the field as well as parents. It's Early Childhood Educaiton...AS I SEE IT.
